Pete Davidson Reveals Painful Past With Grandfather He Feels No Sympathy For

Pete Davidson has opened up with a shocking and emotional claim about his maternal grandfather that left many in the crowd surprised.

While Davidson is well-known for being pretty unfiltered during his comedy routines, most people probably weren’t ready for what the 31-year-old comedian shared during a recent set at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.

As part of his stand-up, Davidson told the audience that his mother’s father is currently battling lung cancer. But rather than expressing sympathy, he made it clear he felt indifferent toward his grandfather’s condition.

“He was diagnosed with lung cancer, and I’m not that close with him,” said Kim Kardashian’s ex. “I’m close with my dad’s dad. I don’t like my mom’s dad.”

Davidson continued, according to Mail Online: “He used to beat the s**t out of me and I don’t like him very much.”

“He’s old school, he’s very Irish. You know those old Irish Jews that are so Irish, they’re like pink, right?”

“His veneers are somehow brown. He’s just an old school dude, and he’s dying.”

Despite how he personally feels, Davidson mentioned that he still wants to support his mom during this time, especially since she’s feeling heartbroken over her dad’s declining condition.

By contrast, the former Saturday Night Live star admitted that he felt secretly pleased about the news of his grandfather’s illness.

“I’m like, die slow motherf**er,” he added during his set.

This wasn’t the only emotional revelation Davidson has made recently. A few months back, he also spoke openly about why he believes there’s been so much focus on his dating life in the media.

The actor, known for his role in The King of Staten Island, has been romantically linked with several high-profile celebrities like Ariana Grande, Emily Ratajkowski, and Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor.

“I’ve had some pretty adult relationships with some pretty amazing women and when it’s ended it’s been cool,” he told Page Six earlier this year.

“Everyone is dating everyone and it’s Hollywood,” Davidson continued. “Look at Paul Mescal, Timmy [Chalamet], Barry Keough. But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me. I was harassed for like five years and it made my life a living hell.”

Davidson also expressed that he would prefer the attention to be focused on his actual work rather than his romantic history.

“[It’s] embarrassing because you want people to write about your work. I was one of the youngest ever cast members on SNL and all that got pushed to the side because of who I was dating,” said Davidson.

In addition to his run on Saturday Night Live, he has appeared in several films, including Dumb MoneyThe Suicide SquadBodies Bodies BodiesDog Man, and Meet Cute.
