While Davidson is well-known for being pretty unfiltered during his comedy routines, most people probably weren’t ready for what the 31-year-old comedian shared during a recent set at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.
As part of his stand-up, Davidson told the audience that his mother’s father is currently battling lung cancer. But rather than expressing sympathy, he made it clear he felt indifferent toward his grandfather’s condition.
Davidson continued, according to Mail Online: “He used to beat the s**t out of me and I don’t like him very much.”
“He’s old school, he’s very Irish. You know those old Irish Jews that are so Irish, they’re like pink, right?”
Despite how he personally feels, Davidson mentioned that he still wants to support his mom during this time, especially since she’s feeling heartbroken over her dad’s declining condition.

“I’m like, die slow motherf**er,” he added during his set.
This wasn’t the only emotional revelation Davidson has made recently. A few months back, he also spoke openly about why he believes there’s been so much focus on his dating life in the media.
The actor, known for his role in The King of Staten Island, has been romantically linked with several high-profile celebrities like Ariana Grande, Emily Ratajkowski, and Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor.
“Everyone is dating everyone and it’s Hollywood,” Davidson continued. “Look at Paul Mescal, Timmy [Chalamet], Barry Keough. But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me. I was harassed for like five years and it made my life a living hell.”

“[It’s] embarrassing because you want people to write about your work. I was one of the youngest ever cast members on SNL and all that got pushed to the side because of who I was dating,” said Davidson.
In addition to his run on Saturday Night Live, he has appeared in several films, including Dumb Money, The Suicide Squad, Bodies Bodies Bodies, Dog Man, and Meet Cute.
