COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man charged with murdering a 46-year-old woman in Reynoldsburg nearly two years ago has pleaded guilty, the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office announced Friday.
Kandawaswikia Kahari, 22, pleaded guilty to aggravated murder, felonious assault and gross abuse of a corpse in the death of 46-year-old Susan Ramberg, who court documents say was his girlfriend.
Ramberg’s body was found in the trunk of a vehicle in a garage in the 500 block of Rosehill Road, just west of Civic Park, in February 2023.
The prosecutor’s office says Kahari killed Ramberg in her home on or about Feb. 16. A preliminary investigation indicated that Ramberg was strangled.
Court records say that police officers were called to the home for a well-being check on Ramberg and her son. Officers arrived and made entry into the home and eventually discovered Ramberg’s body after speaking to the son.
Her son had been left alone for about a week, court records state. The son told officers that Kahari had checked in on him several times throughout the week and brought him food.
The Reynoldsburg Division of Police then arrested Kahari on March 10, 2023, after their investigation led to him.
His sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 7. He faces up to 39 years to life in prison.
