Khloé Kardashian Made Tristan Thompson Take Three Paternity Tests After Fearing Her Son Was Actually Her Brother’S

Khloé Kardashian has admitted she went to extreme lengths to confirm who her son’s biological father was.

After noticing what she described as a “freaking weird” resemblance between her youngest child and her brother Rob, the reality star said she couldn’t shake the fear that something had gone very wrong.

That concern eventually led her to ask Tristan Thompson to take not one, but three separate DNA tests, just to rule out what she saw as a nightmare scenario.

Khloé and NBA player Tristan Thompson first went public with their relationship in September 2016, and by December 2017 they were expecting their first child together.

Their daughter True, now seven, was born in April 2018, but the relationship was already under strain, with repeated rumors and reports of Tristan’s infidelity surfacing during and after the pregnancy.

Things finally collapsed in early 2019 after it emerged that Tristan had kissed Jordyn Woods, who had been close to the Kardashian family for years.

Despite the very public breakup, the pair decided to give their relationship another chance in 2020 and began discussing expanding their family.

During the final season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Khloé explained that doctors had advised her against carrying another pregnancy herself, which led her to consider surrogacy.

The mother-of-two told viewers: “A few months ago, Tristan and I made embryos, and during that time I was also told that I would not be smart if I carried my second pregnancy, I would be high risk and to explore surrogacy options.”

“So, Tristan and I have decided that’s what we’re going to do. I have a surrogate agent who is, you know, sort of filtering through who they think might be the best fit for me and my family.”

Tristan added: “It is a big commitment, and you want to find the right fit, but we got this new chapter, we’ve got this together, we’re a team.”

Just weeks later, news broke that Tristan had fathered a child with personal trainer Maralee Nichols, which appeared to permanently end his romantic relationship with Khloé.

Even so, the pair went ahead with their surrogacy plans, and their son Tatum was born in July 2022.

But when Khloé finally met her baby boy, she immediately noticed something that didn’t sit right with her.

Instead of looking like either parent, Khloé felt that Tatum bore a striking resemblance to her younger brother Rob.

Speaking on the SHE MD podcast with Dr. Thais Aliabadi and Mary Alice Haney in May 2024, she admitted the similarity sent her mind racing.

Recalling that moment, she said: “My son looks just like my brother.”

“Because he was an IVF baby or a surrogate baby, I was like, ‘Rob, have you ever donated sperm somewhere?'”

“In this family, that would not surprise me,” she joked. “But that would be so disgusting!”

“But I remember she [her doctor] was like, ‘You’ve already done a DNA test!’ I go, ‘I need to do another one, I need to figure it out.'”

To finally put her fears to rest, Khloé insisted Tristan undergo multiple paternity tests to confirm he was Tatum’s biological father.

“I made Tristan do three DNA tests for Tatum,” Khloé told the podcast hosts. “He was so offended.”

All three tests came back with the same result, confirming Tristan is Tatum’s dad and easing Khloé’s anxiety.

Khloé also shared that her son reminds her deeply of her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., who passed away in September 2003.

The mom reflected: “[Tatum] is sarcastic, and my dad had a really dry, silly, just crazy sense of humour, and there’s glimmers of my dad in Tatum, and I’m like this is so freaking weird, but it’s just how God works. And I love it!”
